Game: Friday, September 26, 7:30 pm at Dominion High School
Why: After a tough 56-6 loss against Loudoun Valley, the Titans are looking to bounce back against the Freedom Eagles this Friday. New head coach Mike Brown says, “We’re playing a lot of guys and especially young players so we’re just trying to create that culture and competitive edge. As far as wins and losses I know it’s not what everybody wanted, but I think that we’re on the correct path.” The homecoming game is one of the most exciting games of the year, Senior Jonathan Oxley says, “I think students should come to this game because it’s the homecoming game and we would love to see D-Block come out and support us.” Prior to the game, there will be the annual homecoming parade that will get people excited for the game. Having a large crowd is super crucial to the teams success, “We’re competitive and trying to create a competitive environment and that starts with having a good crowd and people being loud and engaged the whole time,” Coach Brown said.
Players to Watch For: Keep an eye on sophomore William Rivas, a talented running back and defensive back. As well as Seniors Jonathan Oxley and Rico Jones who are both wide receivers and play defensive back, they take on major roles for the team.
What’s Next: Their next match is against Rock Ridge on Friday, October 3, at 7:00 pm at Dominion High School.
