Wednesday afternoon Dominion hosted their annual signing day where committed senior athletes were celebrated with teammates and family. Keira Van Voorhis signed to the University of New Hampshire to play Division I lacrosse, Jaden Beyer signed to Marymount University to play Division III baseball, and Amaya Bowles signed to Livingstone College to play Division II volleyball.
Keira Van Voorhis: Lacrosse- University of New Hampshire

Van Voorhis has been playing lacrosse since she was four years old and has played on the girls varsity lacrosse team for three years. “I went on a visit before I officially chose there, and I was like ‘I love the campus here’. I met the team and I loved them, they were all super inviting. Then I talked to the coach for a while and we both had similar views on the game, so I was like this feels like the right place,” Van Voorhis said.
She has received many accolades in her high school career including being named district and region player of the year and getting second team all state her junior year. “It’s pretty exciting, it’s something that makes you proud because you know how hard they’ve worked, not just in high school, but probably even leading up to that. She’s always had the talent there, if you look from her freshman year to now just how much she’s grown and how much the other players look up to her,” head coach Bradley George said.
Jaden Beyer: Baseball- Marymount University

Beyer has been playing baseball for five years now and has played on the varsity baseball team for his first three years of high school. He also has played basketball at Dominion for three years and played football for two years. Beyer plans to study cybersecurity at Marymount University. “It’s close to home. I had a good connection with the coaches, after playing there at a camp I really liked the atmosphere after the visit. I think it’s just a good fit for me,” he said.
While Beyer has played baseball here he received awards his junior year by getting first team All-District and Region as well as earning most valuable player.
Amaya Bowles: Volleyball- Livingstone College
Bowles has been playing volleyball for around six years and has been playing at Dominion for her fourth year now. The volleyball team is heading to the state quarterfinals on Saturday, November 15th and it came as a joyful surprise as Bowles signed just three days before the big game. She plans to study business administration at Livingstone College. “I got to meet her [Livingstone coach] back in the summer and she just really stuck out to me and the location is amazing, the campus tour was amazing too. The athletics and academics as well, so everything is really great.”, said Amaya

Bowles awards while playing volleyball, such as second team All-District outside hitter her junior year, first team All-District and All-Region this year. Coach Tat Phuong said, “I’m excited for her. She came in her freshman year, on a big JV spot. I thought highly of her because she has great athleticism and we knew her potential was high. Then seeing her go through high level clubs, travel season and now she simultaneously with another teammate broke the school record, so she’s tremendous.”
