Dominion played against a very strong Tuscarora team Wednesday January the 7th Dominion lost the game 77-46 but had positive things to take away in this game.
Abdalla Fadil scored a team high 16 points, making 5 threes shooting 42% from the three point line. Team captain Jaden Beyer had a team high 7 rebounds.
Tuscarora shot the ball really well, shooting 71% from 2 and 43% from 3. Dominion struggled to shoot the three as they shot 18% from behind the arc. Tuscarora top scorers were Colin Byrd with 20 points and Chas Battaglia with 19 points.
A tough first quarter had Dominion trailing 17-9, but then in the second quarter Tuscarora went into a 1-3-1 zone that Dominion hasn’t seen a lot this season forcing a lot of turnovers leading to a 39-21 halftime deficit.
Dominion subbed a lot of bench players that do not often get in early for them during the second quarter. The players off the bench showed great energy playing hard defense and crashing the glass.
Senior point guard Quinn Daignault said, “I was happy with how Moe played with his intensity on defense. I also like Bilal was looking to score and attack the basket every time he got some good looks and that’s what we needed even though we were down 30”.
In the 4th quarter Dominion was down big but the players still played with a lot of energy and the effort was still the same despite being down big. Dominion has played 2 district games against two very tough district opponents. Dominion looks to bounce back strongly in the next game tonight at Rock Ridge
