Samsung released a video of a new foldable phone. Just a few weeks before the Galaxy unpacked event 2019, which was set to  introduces a foldable phone that may be released. It is a huge change coming to the smartphone industry, as producing this new phone requires total reconfiguration of the smartphone inside and out.

The company has been working on the foldable phone for couple of years, and last year, at the company’s developer conference they revealed Samsung Infinity Flex Display. Still, they managed to not show too much, dimming the lights to hide design details.

They also didn’t hint a name or a release date for the device. Samsung later said that they are preparing to release the device in the first quarter in 2019.

Nobody knows what the new Samsung phone looks like because there haven’t been a lot of hints, but according to the most recent from Samsung itself, the phone looks something like the picture above, that shows fully bezel-less display that unfolds into a tablet. But, it is just a rumor of how the foldable phone might look.

This flexible screens could potentially turn a single display in to two displays. This will change the way consumers  interact with smartphones by making the screen bigger. Other changes include, the phones will be fundamentally more impact resistant, which will means that we could be saying goodbye to cracked screens, expensive repairs, and bulky smartphone cases.

As new phones come out, manufacturers will always be working improve design and making the phones more powerful. For the past couple of years manufacturers compete by making the bezells smaller, improving the camera quality, and make more powerful software. This year phones should be getting some really fancy features or otherwise people will not upgrade to a new phone that looks the same as the last year model. With that being said, Samsung Unbox event on February 20, hopefully will bring some fun news.
