Ford’s Fish Shack is a colorful burst of maritime fun located near the Ashburn Ice House.  The restaurant features a nautical theme with 80’s hits playing over the speakers and a bustling atmosphere.  As their tagline “fresh-off-the-hook seafood” suggests, Ford’s menu is full of tantalizing and fresh dishes that taste as good as they look.

The oysters and mussels at Ford’s Fish Shack are available by the pound, and are absolutely incredible.  Even at fancier and more expensive restaurants, I have never had fresher or tastier oysters and mussels.

Also not to be missed are the fish’n’chips and crab cakes, two dishes that have been held in acclaim by the Washington Post and are well worth the occasional 20-30 minute wait-times.  The drinks at Ford deserve a mention as well, from the palatable house-made lemonade to the super sweet coffee milk, described on the menu as a “Rhode Island tradition”.
