Winter Spirit week is almost here, taking place the week before winter break, and according to SCA representative, Quin Noland, students can expect a pep rally filled with momentum, school spirit, and plenty of energy.
The Winter Spirit Week will be from December 15-19, for students it consists of PJ day on Monday, Tuesday is twin day, Wednesday is Santa vs Elves, Thursday is Flannel vs Puffer and Friday is White Out. For teachers, however, Monday is the same, Tuesday is Baker day, Wednesday is Ugly Sweater Day, Thursday is Grinch Day, and Friday is White Out as well
With successful pep rallies in the past, Noland states they’re going to continue to “ride that momentum through” to hope to have better pep rallies that lead to greater outcomes.
The games during the pep rally consist of “Snatch Yo Wig”, where players compete to snatch each other’s wigs, with one arm allowed, and the goal is to remove the opponents wig from their head, “Snowball Fight which is basically like dodgeball but teams are divided up by class, “Santa Sleigh Relay” where participants race to deliver presents by pulling or carrying “Santa” on a “sleigh” to an obstacle or finish line, and last but not least, “Reindeer Run” which is a team-

based obstacle course race where one player on each team will be gift wrapped at the end.
Regarding the games of the pep rally, Noland said, “The games wouldn’t be drastically different but that they’re gonna attract energetic, enthusiastic people who all care about the spirit of dominion.”
Beyond the pep rally, during Spirit Week will also include Deck the Halls which will be held after school on December 15th, 16th, and 17th. Noland said, “ That’s something [Deck the Halls] we’re serious about, and that SCA as a whole wants to continue to promote the spirit of Dominion even outside of school hours”
