While there used to be a hallway decorating competition during homecoming week, SCA is bringing it back this holiday season to increase school spirit.
SCA member Aniston Kimble said, “Deck the halls is where each class gathers together to decorate a hallway just to bring the school spirit together and come together as one, to do a fun activity.”
The optional hallway decorating will take place from 4:30-7:00 PM on December 15-17 with the judging on Thursday.
Each grade will have a dedicated upstairs hallway with a specific theme. The freshmen theme is Gingerbread House, sophomores are Whoville/Grinch, juniors are Santa’s Workshop, and seniors are Winter Wonderland/Frozen.
Kimble explained that Deck the Halls will be a fun and easy way to celebrate going into the holidays and connect with the school community. “I hope that personally, people will have fun and find joy in connecting with their peers and doing it in a fun way rather than a school manner,” she said.
