Hikes:
Bears Den Hike is a scenic 1.6 mile hike along the Appalachian trail with beautiful views as you reach the end of the trail with an overlook. During the springtime, it is a great place to attend especially during sunset. There is no price needed to get in either; it is perfect for individuals not looking to spend money.

Sporting Events:
It is baseball season and everyone is going out to Nationals Park to check out our home team play on a nice warm day. Nationals Park provides food and drinks, and their iconic mini replica batting helmets designed to serve soft serve ice cream. Not only do they host baseball games, they also have a summer concert series with different bands and artists post-game.

Concerts:
There’s nothing that sounds more fun than seeing your favorite artist in concert in the spring and summer. Popular concert venues that host concerts all year around are Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts and Jiffy Lube Live, both venues provide grass lawn seating aside from regular amphitheater style seats. Tickets are held at affordable prices and there are many food options available at Jiffy Lube, however you have to bring your own food and beverages at Wolf Trap.

Farms:
Typically, the best time to visit farms are in the spring because it is right when the crops are planted. Whether it’s a fruit or flower farm, local farms are all over to go visit on a beautiful day. Burnside Farms is a family owned flower farm with more than two-million tulips and seventy acres of sunflowers blooming during the summer. They offer outdoor vendors with food in their picnic area to relax after picking the flowers of your choice. Great Country Farms is another local farm; they offer fruit picking which you can take home after picking. During the spring, they provide strawberries [peak in May] and cherry picking [opens in June]. Following that, in late June and July, they sell blackberries and peaches for guests to pick as well.

Activities:
Pickleball has made a comeback and has become a popular activity for all ages. Everyone does not enjoy the sun beaming on them when it is hot outside, so Village Pickle is the perfect opportunity to still play but inside. Village Pickle is an indoor pickleball facility in Leesburg that allows you to rent a court and play with whoever you’d like. They also provided food and drinks at their Dell Food and Brew Hall. Another fun activity of interest is the Dulles Golf Course and Sports Center. Dulles provides an 18-hole miniature golf course with challenges for all ages, for more golf, visit their driving range next door!

Farmers Markets:
Staying local, the Cascades Farmers Market offers a lovely seasonal farmers market with a lot of vendors offering fresh produce and food. It recently opened May 4th and stays open throughout part of the fall, with people coming out every Sunday morning. Leesburg Farmers Market is another local option for harvested goods and local produce. Leesburg Farmers Market is only open on Saturdays, however it is open year round. Local farmers markets offer fresh produce and food, while supporting local businesses.
