Game: Girls Varsity on Wednesday, April 23rd at 5:00 and Boys Varsity at 7:45 at Dominion.
Why: Last year, neither the boys or girls played against Potomac Falls, but student attendance is encouraged since it’s a cross-town rivalry. “[Students should come] because [it’s a] great atmosphere, great rivalry, and it’s gonna be a great game,” said Senior Kevin Bunea. According to MaxPreps, the girls are currently undefeated with a record of 4-0, and are looking to continue their winning streak. The girls are coming off a 16-3 win against Broad Run before the break. Potomac Falls Girls Varsity sits at 1-1 according to MaxPreps. The boys currently sit at 1-3 with their sole win against John Champe, according to MaxPreps. According to MaxPreps, Potomac Falls Boys Varsity Lacrosse has faced a similar start to their season with a current record of 1-4.Wednesday is a unique gameday, with all three lacrosse teams (girls varsity, boys JV, and boys varsity) playing in a triple-header. JV Boys Lacrosse will be playing in the middle of the varsity games against Potomac Falls.
Players to Watch For: The team’s D1 commit, junior Keira Van Voorhis, who is also a DHS Press Staff Reporter, wears #2 on the field and just hit 300 draw controls. #14, Sydney Green has led the team’s defense for the past four years. On the boys side, seniors Brendan Pope, Ethan Hulvey, and Herbert Mackay play an integral role in the team’s success.
What’s Next: After Wednesday’s game, the Titans will be back in action on Friday, April 25th versus the Briar Woods Falcons. Boys will be at home, while girls will be at Briar Woods.
