This past Saturday on September 26th, Dominion Varsity Cheerleading competed in their first competition of the season at Loudoun Valley High School. With hours of practice and preparation, they were anxious to perform in front of judges for the first time this year.  Competing against six of the best teams in the area, the Titans finished with a second place trophy just behind cheerleading power-house Sherando. Their routine was unique in its style and pace and stood out amongst the other routines at the competition.  With a new coach this year, the girls have rallied around the leadership of the nine seniors on the team who have high expectations for the rest of the season. Last year, their season came to an abrupt end at districts, but this year, the girls have a different mindset.  “We are much more goal oriented and disciplined,” senior captain Hannah Tarro said. Their next competition will be at Rock Ridge High School on Wednesday, October 7th at 6 PM.
