Live Sports vs. TV

Many fans in today’s world of sports would rather sit at home on their couch and watch the big game through their TV, instead of getting the real deal experience by going to the game and experiencing the fun and excitement of watching their home team win the big game. Watching the game by yourself instead of being surrounded by hundreds of screaming fans is very bizarre choice.

It is often brought up that attending a sports game can be very costly and expensive. While this may be true depending on what sport you plan on attending, an average ticket to a Wizards game or a Nationals game costs only $30. You can even get certain tickets to Nationals game for only $11.

Baseball is a huge part of American history. Attending a baseball game with my family and friends on a beautiful summer day and experiencing the thrill of just being surrounded by fellow Nationals fans and the history of baseball are some of my favorite memories, and are definitely worth the cost of a cheap $30 ticket.

While Nationals tickets are cheap, not every fan in DC wants to go a baseball game. Many fans would rather to go attend more popular team like the Redskins or the Capitals.

While Wizards or Nationals tickets are cheap, the average Redskins or Capitals ticket are more pricey. The average Redskins ticket goes for $80, and the average Capitals ticket goes for $90.

I myself am I huge Caps fan. I’ve been going to Caps games from when I first started speaking as an infant. And I can personally say from my own experiences, that watching a game on TV is nowhere close to the excitement of attending a live Caps game.

My dad and I try to go as many Caps games as we can every season. I cannot think of a single Caps game that I’ve ever been to where I didn’t have a fantastic time. Even if they lost in a complete blowout.

The atmosphere in a Caps game is unimaginable. There is a huge amount of excitement and energy in the crowds, and every fan is kind to one another. Many fans, like myself and my dad, have made life-long friends just by talking and interacting with the other fans around us.

Many people consider watching the game on TV a personal favor to themselves by saving them money. Going to a $30 baseball game isn’t really putting a huge dent in your budget. Going outside and watching a live baseball game is also certainly a lot healthier than sitting around on your couch all day watching the game on TV.
