On his way to another touchdown, Chad Smith looks to lead the Titans to their first ever playoff win against King George.

The 2013 fall sports season has been the most successful in Dominion’s history with a record of 6-4. They are riding a two game winning streak and playing their best football into the playoffs.

Football is playing its second playoff game in Dominion’s history traveling to play King George, who is the 7th seed with a record of 8-2. The game kick-offs at 7 pm.

The success of the football team started before the season even began. “The team decided to dedicate themselves to the offseason workouts. They really worked on their team building and had a strong core as a team,” Coach Buckwalter said.

The team went into the season wanting to change their image. “We were determined to prove everybody wrong. We were tired of being average,” Coach Troth said.

The team itself is carrying a lot of momentum into their first playoff game with a huge win over rival Potomac Falls with a score of 27-7. There are many factors that should lead the team to a win such as “physical offensive and defensive lines,” Coach Troth said.

Coach Buckwalter believes that students shouldn’t watch out for just one player, but for the team itself. “Team above self” is a motto for the season.

Dominion football has scored 178 points total this season, making an average of 17.8 points per game. King George has scored a total of 241 total points this season, making their average 24.1 points scored per game. Dominion has allowed a total of 176 points scored against them this season; averaging 17.6 points scored a game. King George has allowed a total of 155 points scored against them; averaging 15.5 points scored against them per game.
