Dear Mr. English, 

Teacher Appreciation Week made me think of all the things you did for the band program. It’s only been a year but you have made so many great changes to the band program.

Last year, when I first heard about having a new band director, I was honestly worried that band class wouldn’t interest me anymore. But after the first few weeks of the school year, I knew that there was no reason to be worried.

Now, as we are wrapping up the school year, I’m so grateful that you are my teacher. You have taught me so much about music, but also about life like taking ownership of the responsibilities I have. I always look forward to your classes because you make the class not about grades, but the passion for music. You focus on bringing the greatest music out of me and my classmates, no matter how much effort it takes you.

Every single time I step into the band room for class, my stress from the many AP classes I take instantly disappears. And every single time I leave the class, I know I learned something new.

Thank you so much for being a great teacher and role model for this past year. I hope that next year can be even better. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
