Dear Ms. O’Grady,
Happy Teacher appreciation week!
Ms.O’Grady, you have left a lasting impact on me. You gave me a love for English in a way I never experienced before seventh grade. Though a lot has happened since I was in seventh grade sometimes my mind still wonders how much I truly loved your class.
To be honest I never really loved English, I was never a huge fan of reading or writing. However, once I joined your class, I started to enjoy English and look forward to class.
I still remember the short story project where I was really nervous to write that much, but you guided me through it and made me feel really confident and not just on that writing project, but writing in general. Your class gave me a new perspective on writing, making me love it and understand how I can be good at it, leading me to choosing journalism in high school.
Your genuine care for your students really shows. Your classroom was truly such a positive environment where I felt safe to try and make mistakes.
You taught me so much more than English. You taught me about being a kind human, and being comfortable with myself.
Your class made middle school much more bearable and even made me want to make me come to school sometimes.
You are such an amazing teacher and should know that the kindness, caringness, and involvement you showed left a lasting impact on me. I will be forever grateful that you were my teacher.
Sincerely,
Isabelle Ferney
