Mrs Menickelly,
As it is teacher appreciation week, I would like to thank you for all that you have done for me this year. After coming straight from a stressful AP Bio each A day, I am greeted by your warm and welcoming classroom, which immediately takes the stress away, even the dreaded classes with back-to-back timed essays.
Being welcomed by your class each A day has been an amazing experience, as I have never dreaded walking into your room. Even after finishing my first AP exam of the year, I was very grateful that I got to walk into your class immediately after. I was met with a happy spirit along with a teacher who instantly understood the mood I was in without even having to ask.
Since the start of the year, the idea of having to write three essays in under 135 minutes was impossible to me, and I absolutely did not think I would be able to do that. Your confidence in me from such an early part of the year gave me confidence that I would be able to accomplish all my goals for the year.
While my English classes haven’t always been the most interesting, your class has changed my perspective on reading, writing, and life overall. My confidence in my writing has undoubtedly changed because of how much I’ve learned in your class and all of the practice we’ve done this year. I have truly enjoyed every class this year, from classes we watched documentaries in, or classes we did timed-writes, or even the class we played blind pictionary. Each and every class has taught me something impactful this year.
I appreciate all that you have taught me this year, and want to thank you for teaching me crazy facts I’ve never heard of and preparing me for this AP exam like no other teacher has.
Sincerely,
Keira Van Voorhis
