Democrats retake the House of Representatives

The Midterms were held on Tuesday, The Democrats took back the House of Representatives. They had to flip 23 Republican held seats to regain the majority, they flipped 30 with a few still undecided. The Republicans expanded on their majority in the senate flipping 3 democratic held seats.

 

Sessions out as Attorney General, Matt Whitaker is Acting Attorney General

Jeff Sessions was asked resign by President Trump on Wednesday. Matt Whitaker takes his place as acting Attorney General. This could be a disaster for the Mueller probe into the Trump administration. Matt Whitaker said that he has no intention from recusing himself from over seeing the Mueller probe. Sessions drew a lot of criticism from the president for his decision to recuse himself.

Shooting in a California Bar

12 people were shot and killed in a California bar on Wednesday night. One of the people killed was a police sergeant in the sheriff’s department. The shooting took place at a country music bar in Thousand Oaks, California. The shooter was Ian David Long, he was a former Marine. He suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD.
