FBI discovers additional Clinton emails 11 days before election

FBI director James Comey, a Republican, announced that the FBI had uncovered additional emails that might pertain to Hillary Clinton’s email investigation. Immediately, many Washington Democrats cried foul, saying that the FBI director had no right to release such an ominous statement just days before the Presidential election. It was later released that the emails were found in connection with an investigation into disgraced congressman Anthony Wiener, the husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin, and allegations of sexting and inappropriate conduct.

Apple Announces New Macbook Pro

The hotly anticipated new Macbook Pro release is here. Though some critics were expecting a total redesign and thus consider the release a letdown, the new Macbook improves drastically upon its predecessor. Now, the once-hefty Pro is as thin as the Macbook Air. The most notable change to the notebook, however, is the newly-introduced ‘Touch Bar,’ which allows users to adjust everything from volume to screen brightness with just the swipe of a finger.

NBA Kicks Off 2016-2017 Season

On October 25, 2016, the National Basketball Association started its 71st season when the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the New York Knicks. The NBA All-Star game, hosted annually, was set to be played in February at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C. However, after controversy surrounding North Carolina’s HB2—the piece of legislation known as the ‘bathroom law—the game was moved to the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

Iceland’s ‘Pirate Party’ Makes Gains

Echoing the Donald Trump-led fervor against ‘the establishment’ in the U.S., Iceland voted on October 29 in droves for the ‘Pirate Party,’ an insurgent group whose aim is to fight corruption in the Icelandic government. After both the Pirate Party’s successes and the Brexit surprise in June, many U.S. officials are speculating that this could hint at a surprise Trump win next Tuesday.
