The 2016 Presidential Election is fast approaching, and it’s important to keep up with everything that’s happening so that the vote you cast on November 8th is as informed as possible. Below are some of the important events and dates to keep track of as the days to Decision Day 2016 count down.

Monday, October 17th: the deadline to register to vote in Virginia by mail, online, or in person. If you fail to register to vote by this deadline, you won’t be able to cast a ballot on election day!

Wednesday, October 19th: the 3rd Presidential Debate. Hosted by Fox News’ Chris Wallace at the University of Nevada, the debate will begin at 9pm E.T. and last 90 minutes.

Saturday, October 29th: the date for in-person absentee voting. If you are able, and cannot vote on the day of the general election, you can go to your local registrar’s vote between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m and cast a ballot.

Tuesday, November 1st: the deadline to request an absentee ballot. If you won’t be able to vote at your local polling place during the designated time—whether because of a religious obligation or because you won’t be home—make sure to request one.

Tuesday, November 8th: Election Day! Make sure to check the operating hours for your precinct so that you’re able to have your voice heard!
