The 3 Things You Need to Know

Oh me oh my, Missouri

Missouri University has been under fire recently, and for good reason. Many African American students have been affected by the on-campus racism and no one was trying to stop it. Recently, a swastika, made of feces, was found in a bathroom. In reaction to the lack of administrative action, the entire football team of Missouri University said they would not play unless the president stepped down. Though it seemed like a victory when the president resigned, the celebrations did not last long.

Russian Airliner Crash

Lately, if you turn on the TV, you can usually see something about the Russian Airliner that went down over Egypt. We see it every day, but how much do we know about what happened? In truth, not much. There have been speculations that it had been a bomb on the craft, and the terrorist group known as ISIS is claiming responsibility, but it is too soon to tell. Officials say that the black box and cockpit recorder have been damaged, so it will be a while until we know anything concrete. However, that does not stop Egyptian airports from taking precautions. The security in the airports have increased dramatically, but the officials say that “Egypt is willing to pay any price to prevent this happening again” (BBC World News).

The Yellow Tin Can

At some point in life, we have all been on a school bus. They are filled with kids screaming at the top of their lungs, even though the sun hasn’t come over the horizon, and no one truly sits down in correct position we were taught in that hour long training session. However, this will all probably change. Recently, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wants to put seat belts on buses. The estimated cost to put seat belts in buses is in the billions. But with a least four kids dying annually due to large school bus crashes, people are willing to pay for the safety of their children.
