Fantasy Football Talk: Week 15

Fantasy Football Talk: Week 15

After a week where the Bears dominated, the Cowboys are looking like a force, and the Steelers are in really bad form, we have a lot to discuss this week. All point totals are done in the standard ESPN PPR point format.

Start:

D.J. Moore- Wide Receiver- Carolina Panthers- D.J. Moore has come alive with Funchess struggling for a big portion of this season. Moore is the new WR1 in Carolina and that is great news especially with Greg Olsen out too. An injury to Olsen are always good signs for Carolina WR as he hauls in a lot of targets, so that will help spread the love. They play a Saints team who have allowed the most total YPG to WRs and the most total fantasy PPG to WRs. I absolutely love Moore this week and wished I was able to play him in one of my leagues.

Allen Robinson- Wide Receiver- Chicago Bears- Robinson has had a disappointing year, but with that said he still the recognized WR1 in Chicago. This week the Bears have a very WR friendly matchup vs the Packers who have allowed the second most passing TDs to WR all year and the fourth most total fantasy points to WR as well. Robinson has great potential this week especially as a big red zone target.

Lamar Jackson- Quarterback- Baltimore Ravens- Give me some Lamar this week. He has 15.9 points or more in all of his last four games and 70 or more rushing yards in that time as well. He has an amazing ability to rack up fantasy points with his legs and has a very good matchup vs the Buccaneers. The Bucs have allowed the second most passing TDs from QBs and the sixth most total fantasy PPG to QBs as well. Lamar should have a pretty easy matchup in the passing department which will allow Lamar’s legs to rack up points with maybe tacking on a few extra in the passing game.

Sit:

Aaron Jones- Running Back- Green Bay Packers- I absolutely love this guy. I’ve talked about him a lot in past weeks and in my early waiver wire pickups. He ended up being a great snag if you were able to get him. He is now a low end RB1 and very high RB2. Unfortunately for Jones the Packers play the Bears this week. The Bears held the best fantasy RB in football to 8.8 points. Jones is not at Gurley’s level at all, so I doubt his numbers will beat, let alone match, Gurleys. The Bears have allowed the lowest total fantasy PPG to RB and have only allowed, wait for it, two rushing TDs all season. Yes, two. All season. That’s four less than the next closest. Jones will most likely struggle to find the end zone and will have pretty rough day overall. Jones is scary play this week and someone I am staying away from.

TY Hilton- Wide Receiver- Indianapolis Colts- I know that the caption says “sit”, but don’t bench Hilton. Just heavily, and I mean heavily, lower expectations. I think Hilton has FLEX value this week as they take on the Cowboys. The Cowboys have allowed the third lowest receptions to WR all year and the third lowest total fantasy PPG to WR as well. The Cowboys defense is extremely hot right now after shutting down the Saints and then the Eagles the week after and I don’t want to mess with them at the moment.

Evan Engram- Tight End- New York Giants- Engram entered the season as top fantasy TE and has done nothing but disappoint this year. With that said though, there is lack of depth at the TE position so some people are still stuck with Engram. This week you have to bench him though. They play a Titan team that has been great against TE all season. They haven’t allowed a single passing TD to TE all season and have the lowest total fantasy PPG allowed to TE all year too. Engram you have to bench. There has to be some TE on the wire that you can find even with the lack of depth.

Waiver Wire Pickups

Justin Jackson- Running Back- Los Angeles Chargers- Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler are out indefinitely so that means it’s Justin Jackson time in LA. Jackson has heavy workhorse potential and is only owned in 40% of ESPN leagues. If there is anyone on the wire with workhorse potential at this point in the season it is a jewel. Pick him up ASAP if you even have a somewhat shaky FLEX. Even if he is only a workhorse for one week that’s better then not having a workhorse on your team.

Elijah McGuire- Running Back- New York Jets- Isaiah Crowell left their game early which led to McGuire getting a ton of touches. He put up 17 points in a win against the Bills and looked pretty impressive. Crowell is out indefinitely which means McGuire could keep his large amount of touches for a while. He is only owned in 11.7% of ESPN leagues and is another jewel along with Justin Jackson.

DaeSean Hamilton- Wide Receiver- Denver Broncos- Emmanuel Sanders is out for the season so new WR options are emerging in Denver. Courtland Sutton is yet grasp his opportunity to be a “dominant” WR in Denver after the Demaryius Thomas trade and Sanders injury. That means someone else has to step up right? Correct. DaeSean Hamilton put up seven catches with a TD and had 18 total points last week. He should continue to draw the attention of Case Keenum since the CB1 of the opposing team should be glued onto Sutton. He is only owned into 5.5% of ESPN leagues and seems like someone with great upside in the WR department.
