Virginia Tech– Saturday, the Hokies hosted FCS opponent, the Delaware BlueHens, and while the offense didn’t look as potent as week one (31-24 win over No. 22 West Virginia), they held their own with freshman quarterback Josh Jackson completing 16 of his 28 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns.  The defense looked fantastic, holding Delaware to only 223 yards of total offense, and forcing two fumbles. The Hokies moved up two spots in the AP Poll to number 16. Next week they travel to Greenville, NC to face The Pirates of East Carolina (0-2) at 3:30 PM EST on CBSSN.

Maryland– The Maryland Terrapins did not disappoint again this week when the blew out the Towson Tigers 63-17 for their home opener. The Terps put up over 530 yards of total offense, and accounting for a lot of this was the duo of junior running back Ty Johnson and junior wide receiver D.J. Moore. Johnson had another monster game on the ground, running for 124 yards on 5 carries and two touchdowns. Moore had 97 yards and two touchdowns through the air, and 21 yards on the ground, and one more touchdown. Freshman quarterback Kasim Hill looked good in his first collegiate start. He completed 13 of his 16 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 41 yards. The Terps are off this upcoming Saturday and will host The UCF Knights (1-0) on September 23rd at 3:00 PM EST on Fox Sports 1.

Virginia– The Cavaliers did not look good this past Saturday at their home opener, falling to the Indiana Hoosiers 34-17. The Caveliers were held to 55 rushing yards on 25 attempts by the Hoosiers defense. Cavaliers quarterback Kurt Benkert did complete 39 of his 66 pass attempts, but only averaging 3.9 yards a completion. While Virginia only gained four less yards than the Hoosiers all day, and controlled possession for most of the game, they couldn’t convert as much as Indiana did. The Cavaliers look to bounce back in a big way this weekend in front of their home crowd against The Huskies of Connecticut (1-0) at 12 PM EST on ESPN2.

James Madison– James Madison dominated the East Tennessee State Buccaneers Saturday afternoon in front of a max capacity Bridgeforth Stadium. This was the home opener for the Dukes this year, so they had their Championship ceremony for winning the FCS National Championship in 2016, and they picked up right where they left off. Quarterback Bryan Schor tossed 304 yards and 5 touchdowns and ran for another 26 yards. The defense for the Dukes gave up just 175 yards of total offense for the Bucs’ while also forcing two fumbles and picking off a pass. Next week James Madison will host The Norfolk State Spartans (0-2) at 3:30 PM EST.
