The Value of Vinyl

In an unsurprising turn of events, what was once old is new again and trends of the past have resurfaced.  Yes, the rise of the record-player is once again upon us with many popular stores starting to sell both turntables and vinyl records.   Music itself has never gone out of style but the means of accessing it, which in this day and age is mainly digitally, is being swapped out for the record-player due to a superior sound quality and listening experience.

There is a significant loss of sound quality when music is digitally downloaded or streamed so one is never truly listening to the songs the way the artist originally intended them to be heard.  When played on a record-player though, virtually no quality is lost at all which presents a much more authentic version of the selected audio.

Obviously, the lack of portability of a turntable and of records themselves is why CD’s and the mp3 player were invented in the first place but when one is looking for a purer listening experience, the record-player is the only way to go.  Listening to any favorite song or album in vinyl form is truly life-changing and will cause the listener to only want to play records in the future.

Buy a turntable on Amazon or at Urban Outfitters or Target. Get records either on Amazon or at Urban Outfitters.  If a more old-fashioned approach is desired, go to Record & Tape Exchange in Fairfax or Dig! Records and Vintage in Leesburg to search through shelves of records and try out a turntable before purchasing one.
