Indie Games of the Week

The three best and worst free indie games of the week and where to download them starting with the best:

1.) Tacopocalypse:
Tacopocalypse is a fast paced taco delivery game, in the first stages of its development. You maneuver your car, jump, flip, and crash all over the extremely colorful map as you search for giant taco shells and make deliveries.

The game is sometimes hard to control but is very fun to play and is unlike any racing game I have ever played. I’ve never kickflipped a car before. Tacopocalypse is the type of game that eats up a lot of time if you don’t pay attention because of its entertaining qualities.

2.) The amazing odyssey of growing up:
This is an interesting game made of hand cut cardboard graphics is a puzzle game about growing up. It is about a boy who must grow up.

3.)Equinox:
Equinox is a gorgeous minimalist game that was the result of a 48 hour game making contest. It is simple and relaxing. The objective is to collect colors and sounds in order to unlock the door and get to the next level.

4.) 10 Stories Up Elevator:
My worst game is 10 Stories Up Elevator because it makes no sense. It begins in an elevator and involves interactions with strangers. At the top of the screen is a riddle. Its lack of directions and vagueness in general causes quick rage quitting.

I have yet to beat it because of its confusing and vague nature. If you have the patience try to figure this one out because I simply cannot.

5.) Please Come Over:

Okay so this game is disturbingly creepy, the idea is to go over this man Nick’s house and hang out with him in an attempt to be friends. Once you leave Nick’s virtual house the game creator who is the real life Nick asks that you email him with details of what you did in his house so that he can feel as though he was actually there.

The 3D graphics are blobby and weird, and you are greeted by Nick who is a brown body form with a scribbled on creeper face. I don’t really recommend playing this one but if you’re into that sort of thing knock yourself out.

6.)Don’t Kill the Cow:
This 8-Bit game hurts your eyes to look at with its horrible color palette and extremely generic graphics, though it is somewhat bearable because of its short length. It is about a farmer who’s wife is hungry. Every day he goes to get food for her and the only instructions are not to kill the cow. The strange ethical decision pits the life of your cow against the life of your wife and the results are somewhat humorous depending on which path you choose to take.
