Our College Playoff Top 4 Predictions

Zack Herink’s

  1. Clemson

They have proven themselves to be the #1 team in the country this season by playing amazing offense with lockdown defense. They had a bit of a slip up against Florida State but the Seminoles are a fine football team and Clemson ended up winning by double digits in the end.

  1. Alabama

Last week I didn’t think this team deserved to be in the top five let alone in the playoff mix. However, they shinned in a big win over LSU and now they’re being talked about being #1 in the nation. Alabama is a fantastic football that will make some noise throughout the rest of this season.

  1. Ohio State

This team hasn’t really impressed me too much this season, they have won all their games but against not so stellar opponents. Some games they were predicted to win by three touchdowns and ended only winning by single digits. They have my attention recently but I can’t put all my faith in them until the Michigan State game.

  1. Oklahoma State
The Cowboys have gotten national attention now after demolishing TCU. The wins weren’t hand to them like Ohio State, they played high flying, deep drop back football to win their games. They still have a lot to prove but for now they are my #4.

  1. Clemson

Clemson was number one last week and that shouldn’t change after they took down Florida State. However, they Tigers have an easy upcoming schedule against three 3-6 teams putting them at risk to be jumped.

  1. Alabama

Last week Alabama showed us who ran the SEC after their forceful win over #2 LSU. The playoff committee will recognize this high caliber conference win and most likely reward them with a #2 ranking ahead of the undefeated Buckeyes.

  1. Ohio State

Although the Buckeyes won last week, it came against a defeated Minnesota team. The committee will probably reward Alabama for their huge win over LSU by giving them the #2 ranking. However, Ohio State will have a chance to earn it back in the next few weeks with two big games coming up against Michigan and Michigan State.

  1. Oklahoma State

The 4th spot is probably the hardest decision for the playoff committee this week. Both Baylor and Oklahoma State are undefeated, but Oklahoma State’s dominating win against previously 8th ranked TCU should be enough to squeeze them past the Bears. However, this week’s ranking will be meaningless after Baylor and Oklahoma square off in week 12.

  1. Clemson

Clemson has proven themselves to be the best this season. Many people didn’t believe they deserved the spot light last week, but after their most recent win against Florida State, Clemson isn’t doubtable anymore. Their next two games should be easy wins, and their last game at South Carolina might be a little difficult, but if they play the way they’ve been playing lately they should be all set to end the season and head into the playoffs.

  1. Alabama

Many people don’t believe that Alabama deserves the #2 spot due to their one loss in the season. Yes, the other top four teams are all undefeated, but Alabama has the toughest schedule this season. They are playing tough teams like LSU and still managing to come out with a win each week. Their defense is a wall that’s hard to break through, and they deserve the #2 spot.

  1. Ohio State

This one isn’t really that surprising. They’ve been in the top five all season long, which is well deserved, but I don’t feel they deserved to be the number one team for a majority of the season. They’re an amazing football team, I’m not denying them this, but they’re an amazing team playing some not very good teams. The would definitely deserve to move up in the ranks after their game against Michigan State, but for now they’re staying in the #3 spot due to their easy schedule.

  1. Baylor

The #4 spot is a little tricky. There are a quite a few teams that deserve the spotlight, but I’m choosing Baylor. They’ve been undefeated all season and have been destroying all other teams they’ve gone up against so far.
