Winners and Losers of the NFL Draft

Cleveland Browns A+
After stocking up on draft picks, the Browns could make a team out of their draft class. Cleveland drafted 14 players, filling every hole on their team over one weekend. Wide receivers Corey Coleman and Ricardo Louis are the type of athletes that can carry an offense and if RG3 can get them the ball they will spell problems for any team they play. They Browns upgraded their pass rush with Carl Nassib and Emmanuel Ogbah and gained some great pass protectors for RG3 in the process.

Jacksonville Jaguars A
The Jaguars added the best prospect of the draft in Jalen Ramsey with the fifth pick. Ramsey is the type of athlete that only comes around once in a while and he will provide lockdown coverage for the Jaguar defense. In addition, Jacksonville added Myles Jack in the second round, a linebacker that was projected to be a Top 5 overall pick before questions about his knee arose. I love this pick because Jack’s upside is enormous, he can easily become the best linebacker in the NFL if his knee holds up, and if it does not then a second round pick was worth the chance.

Houston Texans A
The Texans have the ability to become the most explosive offense in the league after drafting two big time targets for their new quarterback Brock Osweiler. Although the first round pick wide receiver is prone to a few drops, Will Fuller is by far the best deep threat in the draft and will stretch out any defense they play against. In addition to Fuller, the Texans drafted one of the best all-around athletes in the draft in Braxton Miller. Once Miller settles in at receiver, he will be one of the best slot receivers in the NFL. Add Jaelen Strong and Lamar Miller and the Texans have the talent to surprise a lot of people in the upcoming season.

Miami Dolphins A
Miami is loving whoever leaked the video of Laremy Tunsil before the draft. Tunsil was projected to be the number one overall pick by most people before the LA Rams traded up. After the video of him smoking was posted before the draft he fell to 16th. If Miami can keep him in line off the field, he may become the best offensive tackle in the NFL. The Dolphins also added a few dangerous targets to surround Ryan Tannehill in Kenyan Drake, Leonte Carroo, and Jakeem Grant. Miami also added two defensive backs to go with their great pass rush on the front end.

Losers

Philadelphia Eagles C
The 2016 draft will be a bust for Philadelphia unless Carson Wentz lives up to expectations. Wentz looks like he will be a great QB in the future but the Eagles have more glaring team needs throughout their team and those holes will remain after they traded 5 draft picks to the Browns.

Carolina Panthers C
Like the Chargers, the Panthers ignored their offensive line woes in the Draft even after the Super Bowl when their line problems were on full display. Instead the Panters picked three cornerbacks to replace Josh Norman. Picking up defensive tackle Vernon Butler was smart in case of the possibility that their two star pass rushers choose to not re-sign.

San Diego Chargers C-
Although the Chargers picked one of the best players in the draft class of 2016, they failed to fill their glaring need for offensive linemen. The Chargers had one of the worst lines in the NFL last year and they only drafted a center in the third round, a lame attempt to fix their problems. Tight end Hunter Henry will be a great replacement for all-pro Antonio Gates and give Phillip Rivers a solid target.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers D
Trading up into the second round to draft a kicker no matter how good he is always going to draw question marks. Unless Aguayo becomes the best kicker the NFL has ever seen this pick is going to leave people scratching their heads. Also, getting Hargreaves with the eleventh pick in the draft was a mistake in my eyes. He is not elite in his ball skills, speed, press coverage, or his tackling and to add to that he is lazy. I do not see the Buccaneers fixing
