MLB Award Races

NL MVP
The MVP will be no surprise this year, Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals has consistently been the best player not just in the NL but in MLB. Nothing can really stop him, not even Jonathan Papelbon trying to choke him.
My Pick: Bryce Harper OF Nationals
AL MVP
This year is actually is a toss-up between Angels CF Mike Trout and Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson. The stats are almost identical to each other. However, Trout does have the superstar body of work that Donaldson simply does not have. On the other hand, Donaldson has turned his team into a serious playoff contender. The only other person who is even being somewhat talked about besides these two is Kansas City CF Lorenzo Cain who is undoubtedly the best player on the best team in the AL, but hasn’t been talked about to much because of his not-so-amazing numbers.
My Pick: Josh Donaldson 3B Toronto Blue Jays
NL Cy Young
This has got to be the biggest toss-up for end of the year awards. You’ve got Zach Greinke who has a lower ERA than any starting pitcher in the Major Leagues. Then Clayton Kershaw is getting Ks like there are four year olds are in batter’s box. Last, Jake Arrieta, after being traded from the Baltimore Orioles last year, has been on fire. After the all-star break, he was an extremely low ERA of 0.80 and is the only pitcher that has at least 20 wins.
My Pick: Jake Arrieta Chicago Cubs

AL Cy Young
There are two guys in line for the award this year, David Price of the Toronto Blue Jays and Dallas Keuchel of the Houston Astros. In my eyes there is another player who deserves it more but hasn’t gotten a ton of credit. He is Sonny Gray of the Oakland Athletics. The only reason Gray isn’t getting a lot of credit is because he is on the worst team in baseball. He will be a sure contender next year. David Price has been on fire since he has been traded to the Blue Jays, giving the team the boost needed to get the division title. However, Keuchel has been the center of a feel good story with the Astros, going from one of the worst teams in the majors to a playoff contender is a big jump, which might be enough to give him the win.
My Pick: Dallas Keuchel P Houston Astros
