Gymnastics:
The Titan girls gymnastics team competed in the team state finals on Friday February 28 at Lake Braddock High School.
Team: 4th place in class 5 with a score of 142.525.
Individual: Senior Lindsay Miller finished 2nd All-Around in Class 1-5 while placing in every event including 2nd on vault, 3rd on bars, 8th on beam, 6th on floor. Additionally, Miller landed two vaults scoring 9.85 setting a new team record.
Wrestling:
Titan wrestlers competed on Saturday March 1 at Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach.
Team: Four Titans traveled to Tallwood and finished 22nd in the state.
Individual: Senior Lahsen Bachir placed 2nd in his weight class.
Swim:
The swim team competed on Monday March 3 at SwimRVA in Richmond with 12 swimmers qualifying from the boys team and one swimmer from the girls team.
Team: The boy’s team finished in 9th place with a score of 116.
Individual: The boys 200 yard freestyle relay team of Joey Reagan, William Finke, Mason Voigt and Nick Guyton made 5th in preliminaries and pushed up to 4th in finals cutting 19 milliseconds off their time. The second competing relay, the boys 200 yard medley of Nick Guyton, Joey Reagan, Mason Voigt and William Finke finished in 2nd place with a time of 1:37.48. Senior Joey Reagan finished in 5th place for the boys 100 yard breaststroke and 8th place for the boys 100 yard butterfly race bringing the team total of 25 points individually. Senior Nick Guyton finished in 9th for the boys 200 yard freestyle scoring nine points for the team.
Indoor Track and Field:
The indoor track and field state competition was held on March 3 and 4 at Liberty Universities Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg.
Team: Nine athletes traveled to Liberty and competed in two girls relays and four individual events.
Individual: Senior Aaron Forgas competed in the 1000 meter run finishing in 4th place with a time of 2:30.40. Forgas’s finish not only broke a school record, but secured him a spot in All State. Senior Cordell Williams placed 7th in Shot Put Finals for Boys 4A. Freshman Caroline Taylor finished her Girls 1600 Meter Run in 9th place with a mark of 5:21.29.
