Where are you from?
I grew up in Sterling. I went to Seneca Ridge and Dominion and I graduated in 2006.
Which college did you go to?
I went to West Virginia University. I got both my bachelor’s and master’s there, and then I went to George Washington [University] and got my postmaster educational leadership.
Why did you become a teacher?
I remember a few teachers I had in my past that influenced me. I enjoy the subjects I teach, I enjoy working with the youth, so it’s a great combination.
Did you teach at any other schools before coming to Dominion?
No, I taught at Dominion from 2012 to 2022, now I’m back.
What classes do you teach?
I teach economics and government.
What is your favorite class or subject to teach?
Prior to coming back, I taught AP Economics, and I developed a love for the econ field. I do love economics, but I also enjoy teaching government. [If] I had to choose, I would say economics.
How’s your experience coming back to Dominion so far?
It’s been good, but my background check took forever. I felt a little stressed when I first got back, because [it was] already two and a half weeks into the school year, but I feel like I’m back in my rhythm. I honestly felt like I never left.
Do you have a favorite hobby?
I have a bunch of hobbies. I enjoy working out [and] riding my bike. I have three kids, two sons and a daughter. I coach my boys in wrestling. I enjoy hanging out with my family, kids, going on hikes, just being outdoors.
