Game: Tonight 7:15 PM at Dominion High School
Why: After coming off a five-set thrilling win against St. Paul VI Catholic High School (PVI) this past Tuesday, Titan Volleyball is looking to continue their two match winning streak against the Spartans of Broad Run. Dominion and Broad Run have a history, with Dominion beating Broad Run in the District Finals in 2022. Students should attend tonight’s match because “[the] student section is really big in volleyball, because it’s a big momentum sport, and the team with the most momentum and energy directly correlates into the energy [teams] have on the court. The more people here, the better for our motivation,” said Sophomore Ingrid Smith.
Who to watch for: Keep an eye out for four-year varsity starter and co-captain, Kaitlyn Demitz, who is #7 on the court. Along with Demitz, make sure to have your eyes on sophomore setter, #14 Ingrid Smith, who has played an instrumental role in the Titans success this season.
Season Recap: With a sweep over rival Potomac Falls last Tuesday, and their lone loss being against last year’s state champions, James Wood, Titan Volleyball is off to a strong 2-1 start. Titan Volleyball’s next match is against the Pride of Heritage on Thursday, September 19, at 7:15 at Heritage High School.
