New Movie Theater at Dulles Town Center

A movie theater is the new addition at the Dulles Town Center mall.

In the month of December, Dulles Town Center received a new addition to its mall. After nearly a year and a half of construction, the mall welcomed a brand new theater to its vicinity. Regal cinemas opened to the public on December 8th, 2014.

The new Regal Theater is attached to the mall, and is accessible from both the outside entrance across from Sears, and the inside entrance between JCPenney and Sears. The parking lot in front of the theater is fairly large, and provides ample parking options for viewers.

Between Monday December 8th and Wednesday December 10th, the new theater played reruns of several holiday classics, alongside movies such as Godzilla, Maleficent, and Maze Runner. The proceeds collected from the box office between the 8th and 10th went directly to charities such as Toys for Tots, Capital Area Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity of Loudoun County.

The theater is fairly small in comparison to its neighboring theaters, and houses only 10 screens. However, one of these screens is a giant screen presentation called the Regal Premium Experience. The Regal Premium Experience is for viewers who would like higher quality surround sound, and more comfortable seating. These theater rooms provide a higher headrest for extra comfort.

Different from other theaters, the new movie theater offers reclining leather seats for the viewers’ comfort. Alongside the comfortable seats, the theater is set up in a stadium layout, allowing for each viewer to have a decent view of the screen.

The theater was definitely more comfortable than its neighboring theaters such as the Alamo and Cobb theaters. It is also much more comfortable, clean, and high end than the older Regal Cinema located in Countryside Plaza.

Being only 5’3” tall, I typically have trouble seeing the whole screen, especially with a taller or larger person in front of me. However, because of the stadium layout in this new theater, I had no problem seeing the whole screen from my seat near the back.

An added bonus to visiting this particular theater is the shopping and dining options available surrounding the theater. Whether you are in Dulles Town Center all day, or just to catch Dinner and a movie, I definitely recommend visiting the new Regal Cinemas.
