My Growing Excitement Over The New Pokémon Game
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is set to release on November 18th, 2022, and currently has pre-orders available for both the digital code on the Nintendo EShop, and the physical game card on Amazon. On the official website there’s character art, information on the new starters, and snippets of gameplay. Every time a new Pokémon game comes out I spend my entire day playing.
In the last few weeks leading up to the release of the next game, I replay the last few games to get myself even more excited, and I don’t plan to change that this year. I’ve been waiting for this game to come out since late February, and the more they release about the game the more interesting and unique it seems to be.
Recent Pokémon games include Pokémon Sword and Shield, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Sword and Shield were the first Pokémon games I ever played, and they were amazing. Arceus, though I haven’t finished it, I’ve actually enjoyed more than Sword and Shield due to the fact that there were more opportunities to explore the world while still following the story. For Scarlet and Violet, I’m hoping to see more of the open world adventuring that Arceus had to offer, and a more compelling story to keep me engaged for longer.
I am incredibly excited for this game to come out, especially after looking at the official website and exploring all of the new details for this game. While the actual graphics of the game are less appealing than I’d like, the gym leader designs for this gen are incredible. The starters for the game are adorable, and choosing between them is going to be tough.
Scarlet and Violet also has a multiplayer feature that allows you to explore different regions and areas with your friends. This is a change from other Pokémon games, where you are only able to “play together” if you battled each other. This feature is long overdue, and I’m already looking forward to convincing all my friends to buy the game so we can play together.
One of the things I’m most excited for is the new Pokémon being added to the game. In particular, Ceruledge, a wonderfully designed Pokémon, stands out, and the information page about it only makes me more excited. Fire-Ghost Pokémon are some of my favorite types, and the in-game graphics add an interesting fire-glowing effect that elevates the design, especially during the night time. The legendary for Violet who also stars on the cover, Miradion, looks mystical and intriguing.
As the time keeps ticking down to the release of the game, I’m going to be keeping a close eye on the website for any new news, and dusting off my old gamecards to reunite with my old teams and go through the games again.
