The Final Rose: Day 1 of the Doubleheader

Covering each episode of The Bachelorette, Caelan gives you an unfiltered, honest take on the night before.

After last week’s shocking episode with Tayshia sending Bennett home on the 2-on-1, and him returning to try and convince her to let him stay, Bachelor Nation is ready for clarification on everything.

Home Towns is the next episode, so Tayshia will need to send four men home. It is obvious that Tayshia doesn’t know what to do, and it will probably be a last minute decision on who she will send home.

Blake earned a 1-on-1 date, and depending on how it goes, he will be sent home or he will get a rose. During the date, Tayshia realized that she didn’t want to pursue anything else with him, and ended it. This breakup was even heart-breaking for Tayshia, as he cried and sobbed as she sent him away. I feel sorry for them both, but it’s good that she is doing what she needs to do to find her person.

Immediately, Tayshia emotionally enters the group suite of men, saying, “We need to talk.” She talks to the men about her feelings and how she is feeling about sending people home. After she talks to the men, she pulls aside Riley to talk to him, and sends him home after them having a lengthy conversation. Tayshia was particularly upset with sending him home, which was really hard to see.

The rest of the men (including Bennett) go to the rose ceremony, and Tayshia goes directly to the rose portion. Ben has already received a rose, so there are only 3 left. The men who received the 3 remaining roses were Zac, Ivan, and Brendan. Thank the lord that Bennett and Noah were sent home, they were both so dramatic and not fit for Tayshia.

I have a theory that there is always one or two people that are “villains” and stay longer than they should just because producers want them to stir the pot and give content.

The Men Tell All portion begins, and all the men who have been sent home by Tayshia were there. Even though the component of the audience was missing this season, it was SO FUNNY. We saw unreleased clips from the season, some that some of the other men hadn’t even seen.

It wouldn’t be the Tell All without a huge outburst, and it happened once Yosef (from Clare’s part of the season) came, and everyone got to see what went down with him and Clare. The other men got to watch what went down between them, and each one of them was appalled and shocked that someone could treat a woman like that. Chris Harrison asked Yosef to make a statement about what he had said, to which Yosef said he wouldn’t apologize. That is so embarrassing, and he will definitely get a lot of hatred for a while.

The episode ended with bloopers and a sneak peek for the next episode- which is tonight! Super excited for what is to come, and even more excited to see what will come of hometowns!
