What: Miracle

Why: Miracle chronicles the 1980s US Olympic Hockey team led by Coach Herb Brooks that defeated the seemingly unbeatable Soviet team. While it seems like just another cliche movie about a team with unlikely odds defeating a juggernaut, it is important to keep in mind the politics in 1980. Germany was divided into two countries, one being democratic and prosperous while the other was communist and was not a good place to live in. 

The 1980 US Hockey team was more than just a “motley crew of college athletes” that beat the notorious Soviet Union but was a symbol for the US to always have hope. This movie is for people who enjoy sports and stories about overcoming impossible odds.
