Lets Go! Oatlands Invitational

Dominion heads to Oatlands this weekend in one of the biggest meets of the year.

What: Oatlands Invitational

When: Saturday, September 14th 9:00am-1:00pm

Where: Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, VA

Why: This Saturday, in Leesburg, Va, is one of the biggest cross country meets on the east coast: Oatlands Invitational. Only a 25 minute drive from the Sterling area, the Oatlands Plantation is one of the most historic sites in Northern Virginia. I came about this because I went to this exact meet 2 years ago, before I joined the cross country team last year.

The Oatlands Invitational is worth checking out because the course is spectator friendly, and requires little walking. It is one of the meets that people look the most forward to in the season. The two races to watch are the Varsity A girls at 10:00am, and the Varsity A boys at 10:30am. If you can’t make those two races, then the next races to watch are the Varsity B girls and boys at 12:00pm and 12:30pm. JV upperclassmen boys and girls are at 9:00am and 9:30am, and JV underclassmen boys and girls are at 11:00am and 11:30am. So if you find yourself with nothing to do on Saturday morning/early afternoon, then head over to Oatlands Plantation and cheer on the Titans! More information can be found on the meet page
