5 Questions with Jessie Lee
Jessie Lee, a junior, committed to play lacrosse at Villanova on Monday, November 6th.
What led up to the decision to commit to Villanova?
After going on many visits and doing many camps, I knew Villanova was the place I wanted to call home. When I visited there, I absolutely fell in love with the campus. I also met with the players and coaches who I immediately got a good vibe from.
What stood out about Villanova over other programs in the nation?
While on my visit, the head coach gave a speech about the team’s motto “Faith Family Fight”. She spoke of how strong the team’s chemistry is and how important that is. Team dynamic was also a very important factor to me, so her speech really moved me. The school also has a very good biomedical science program which is something I am very interested in.
What were the moments like right before and right after you officially committed?
After I accepted the offer, I immediately texted all of my coaches to thank them for everything, because I couldn’t have done it without them. Then I called my closest friends to tell them the news.
What other schools were interested in you and which ones were up next to Villanova?
A lot of schools reached out to me on September 1st, but I narrowed the list pretty quickly. My top five were Villanova, Virginia Tech, William & Mary, Loyola, and Davidson.
How does it feel to be able to say that you are a division 1 athlete?
It is so exciting and relieving to be committed. The recruiting process was very long and stressful, so it was great for it to finally be over. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I can’t wait to continue my lacrosse career at Villanova.
