Park View at Dominion: The Story of Patriots Joining the Titan Football Team

Over the summer, Park View high school eliminated their football program because of the lack of interest from the student body. Out of the eighteen students that showed up, nine have never played football before. Park View’s administration then cancelled the football program due to the safety concerns for the kids.

By cancelling the football program, it left the upperclassmen and the high school without a team. It was the best opportunity for the Park View students to transfer over and continue their football careers with the Titans. The Loudoun County Public Schools Administration chose Dominion as the school for them to transfer to because it was the closest school and there was space available to accommodate the students.

However, the final decision would have to come from the students on whether they would transfer or not.  Out of the nine student transfers, seven are seniors: Alex Bardales, Harmeet Grewal, Jason Hernandez, Tony Lampe, Devon Persinger, Jorge Salguero, and Quintin Van Sickel. The other two transfers are juniors: Josiah Dentu and Darian Greenhow.

“I made the decision by looking at how I have a future in football and I’ve always wanted to play football in college, so I needed the opportunity since the Park View team was cancelled,”  Tony Lampe said. This was also the case with Quintin Van Sickle and Alex Bardales.

“Making them feel a part of the Titan Family and welcoming them with open arms to Titan Territory, we want to provide each student athlete with a great rewarding personal school experience both academically and athletically,” Mr. Peters said.

“The process was very stressful and took a lot of thought, we had to tell Mr. Farrey our decision. The administration gave us only 36 hours to make a very tough decision,” Alex Bardales said.

“Yes it definitely does, there is a different atmosphere playing here at Dominion and the practices are more vigorous and also I’m not as close to everyone,” said Tony Lampe about the different type of culture at Dominion and the struggles of playing for a new school.

“The Park View students look like they’re having fun. They are really fun to be around,” Sophomore Justin Mann said.

“Dominion didn’t volunteer as a school for them to play at, they chose to play at Dominion. We consider Park View a neighboring school and we are happy to be helping them through a difficult time not having a football team,”  Mrs. Gasser said.

The proximity of Dominion to Park View was a big reason why the students decided to play here. The seven seniors will play their final football season with Dominion with the two juniors continuing their football careers here.
