Dominion Says Goodbe to Mr. Pascoe

After 13 years teaching at Dominion, and 32 overall, Mr. Pascoe will retire.

While there are many changes to a school over the summer, some are more impactful than others. Mr. Pascoe, an earth science teacher for 13 years at Dominion, is retiring this year.

“The people,” said Pascoe about what he will miss most. “I feel like the teachers are kind of like family. I’ve been here for thirteen years, before that I was at Broad Run for nineteen years. I’ve taught with Dr. Brewer since he first came to Loudon County.”

“He has such a gentle and kind spirit, such a friendly man” Brewer said.

“I was going to be a P.E teacher” Pascoe said. “Then I became a science teacher….  I guess I think the topic is interesting and relates to everyday life.”

What drew Mr. Pascoe into Dominion’s doors, “It’s a funny story.. I was at Broad Run and a lot of Broad Run teachers came to Dominion, I just followed them.” he says.

“It’s kind of complicated…. I’ve been teaching for 32 years so I’m tired,” Pascoe said. “I love fishing so I can’t wait to go fishing when I retire, I may come back as a teacher.”

Brewer said, “In addition to his kind spirit he’s so faithful and dependent. I think me and Mr. Pascoe have a special bond. I’ve worked with him longer than anyone I’ve ever worked with it.”
