Southwest Plane:Passengers boarded a plane heading to Dallas and the plane was missing a fan blade. The result was an engine explosion and a shattered window. A passenger was almost sucked out of the plane, but was pulled back in and later died. She was the only one dead but others sustained injuries.

Teen Trapped in Minivan: Kyle Plush, 16 died while reaching for his tennis equipment, and the minivan seat flipped over on him trapping him under the vehicle. He called 9-1-1 multiple times and the police were unable to find him until it was to late. The minivan was a 2004 Honda Odyssey. Honda doesn’t know specifically why this incident occurred and mentioned there were no recalls for that years Honda Odyssey. However, last fall minivans from the years 2011 to 2017 were recalled due to tipping off the second-row seats if not properly latched.

Loudoun County Does Not Have Paid Maternity Leave: Loudoun County teachers do not receive pay for maternity leave causing stress on already anxious mothers. Teachers are expected to use their sick days or trying to use short term disability to obtain coverage for their leave. Otherwise, teachers must take their leave without pay.
