Spring Athletes Sign for College

This past Friday, April 13th, some of Dominion’s finest athletes officially chose where they were going to continue their athletic careers. 5 Dominion athletes including Kyle Quattrin, Mitchell Kay, Kyle Kivinski, Matthew O’Flahavan, and Caden Schaible, all officially signed with schools ranging from the division 3 level to the division 1 level.

Mitchell Kay, Roanoke College, Baseball- Kay joined Dominion baseball this past season and was a part of varsity as a left fielder and a pitcher. He transferred from O’Connell High School in Arlington, VA. “All the great teammates and friends that I have made through baseball. I do this because I want to have fun and this what I want to do,” said Kay. Roanoke College is currently 22-7 and are a part of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Kyle Kivinski, University of Delaware of Newark, Lacrosse- Kivinski has been a part of varsity since his sophomore year, because he was a part of the varsity lacrosse program as a freshman at Paul the VI. The Dominion Attacker has been recognized as an all-state attacker and was a part of Dominion lacrosse state title team. “I have always wanted to play at the next level and now I finally get the opportunity to do that,” said Kivinski. The University of Delaware is a division 1 program in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Matthew O’Flahavan, University of Tampa, Lacrosse- O’Flavan has been apart of Dominion varsity lacrosse for 3 years. He played long stick middle and defense for Dominion in his time here. “I am excited to be apart of a winning program, and it’s in Tampa so it’s going to be a lot warmer,” said O’Flahavan. The University of Tampa is currently 12-3 with 2 regular season matches remaining in the Sunshine State Conference.

Kyle Quattrin, Norwich University, Baseball- Quattrin or “Q” is a catcher for Dominion baseball and has been a part of varsity for 3 years. “The fact I get to continue playing baseball is very exciting, not a lot of people get to do that,” said Quattrin. Quattrin will be joining a Norwich program who is a part of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.

Caden Schaible, Delaware Valley University, Lacrosse- Schaible plays mainly attack for Dominion lacrosse and has been on varsity for 2 years. Schaible was unable to attend the signing day ceremony on Friday, but he will be attending Delaware Valley who is a part of the Middle Atlantic Conference.
