Fantasy Football Talk: Week 16

Fantasy Football Talk: Week 16

After a crazy week of small name players scoring lots of TDs and bad refereeing we have lots of new waiver wire pickups and starts and sits. Point totals are done on a non-ppr ESPN normal point system.

Must Start: Ezekiel Elliott against the Seahawks. If you are having any thoughts of not playing Zeke because he hasn’t played in six weeks or that it’s the Seahawks, don’t. Zeke being back with the Cowboys this week will bring a spark to struggling offense. With a chance at the playoffs still for the Cowboys, Zeke will have a huge workload in his first week back since suspension. But the Seahawks defense… wrong. 4 touchdowns last week and over 150 yards for Todd Gurley, Zeke needs to start for you this week.

Dion Lewis against the Bills. Burkhead unavailable this week should lead to a featured role this week for Lewis. The Bills have allowed the most rushing yards per game to tailbacks since week 8 and most rushing yards this season. Lewis’s potential for week 16 is massive as the Patriots try to lock up the number one seed.

Larry Fitzgerald against the Giants. The Giants defense is just so bad that any wideout against them is a must start. The Giants have allowed the 9th most fantasy points to WR over the last 4 weeks and the most passing TDs. Fitzgerald is still the focus point of the Cardinals offense. He recorded double digit targets for the 8th time this season, so with that mixed with the horrible Giants secondary should be a big day for Fitzgerald.

Sit: Marquise Goodwin against the Jaguars. Even with Goodwin on a tear since Garoppolo took over the starting job. That tear should come to a screeching halt this week as he is up against an amazing Jaguars pass defense. They have allowed the least amount of passing yards and the second least amount of passing TDs this season.

Marshawn Lynch against the Eagles. Lynch has been putting up 96 yards from scrimmage per game over the last month but that number could take a massive hit as Raiders play the Eagles. The incredible Eagles rush defense has allowed a league low on rushing yards and rushing TDs this season. The Raiders should also be down much of the game which will result in a lots of passing from the Raiders.

T.Y. Hilton against the Ravens. Hilton has only had two double digit point games since week 6 and is up against a very tough Ravens defense. The Ravens have allowed the 5th fewest fantasy points to WR this season. All arrows point towards finding a waiver-wire option this week for Hilton.

Waiver Wire Pickups: Blake Bortles. QB on the Jaguars. Only owned in  46% of leagues, Bortles has been a fantasy monster. He is averaging 22.5 points since week 12 and is the first Jaguars QB to have a passer rating over 100 in three straight games along with multiple passing TDs without an interception.

Keelan Cole. WR on the Jaguars. Only owned in  26% of leagues, Cole has been very productive over the last 3 games. He is averaging 17 point per game in those three games and has one TD in both games also.

Robbe Gould. K on the 49ers. The number 2 ranked kicker in fantasy is only owned in 50% of leagues.  The number 2 kicker in the league is putting up big numbers upon the return of Garoppolo. 18.5 points over his last 3 games puts Gould has great pickup heading into championship weekend.
