Fantasy Football Talk: Week 11

Fantasy football playoffs are right around the corner and we have who to add, start, sit for a deep playoff run. Now that we are late in the season many early season injured players are coming back which can add a much needed boost to your team. Point system are based on basic non-ppr ESPN point standards.

Must Start: Alex Smith against the Giants. The Giants pass defense is horrendous allowing 20 passing TDs this season (tied for most this season) and the 4th most passing yards. Smith is the 3rd ranked fantasy QB and is averaging 21 points per game. His numbers could definitely sky rocket this week along with other passing targets including Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce.

Melvin Gordon against the Bills. The Bills have allowed 14 rushing TDs this season (most in the league) and since week 7 have allowed the most points per drive to opponents. The Bills defensive struggles will lead to a field day for Gordon as he was held in check last week in Jacksonville. He will look to break out and take his revenge on a defense that is giving out touchdowns like they’re free samples.

LeSean McCoy against the Chargers. The Chargers have allowed the 2nd most rushing yards this season and giving up the most yards per game. The Bills have announced that Tyrod Taylor will not start this week which will mean that rookie Nathan Peterman will be under center. A rookie under center will mean that the Bills will want to ease him into the game. Easing Peterman into the game means more, more, and even more carries for McCoy on Sunday.

Sit: Adrian Peterson against the Texans. I know the Texans aren’t good but they’re defense has only allowed 3 rush TDs this season and have allowed the 7th least amount of rushing yards this season. Not only that, with the struggles with the Texans pass defense, the Cardinals main focus will be to exploit it and avoid the run game if at all possible. This will lead to a major cut in Peterson’s production.

Jordy Nelson against the Ravens. Since Rodgers went down in week 6, Nelson has been non-existent only averaging 3.2 points a game. The Ravens have allowed the 4th least amount of fantasy points to wideouts this season and have allowed the 3rd least amount of passing yards this season. Nelson’s numbers will look to stay where they have been or even lower.

Joe Mixon against the Broncos. The Bengals have not had an 100 yard rush game in 6 straight games and going up against a rush defense like the Broncos, that streak will likely continue. The Broncos have allowed the 4th least amount of rushing yards and only 4 rushing TDs this season. Even with the Broncos defense struggling in the past two weeks, Mixon’s production will be very limited.

Waiver-wire Pickups: Jamaal Williams, RB on the Packers. Only owned in 2.3% of leagues, Williams will step into Green Bay as the feature back with injuries to Ty Montgomery and Aaron Jones. He had 20 carries for 67 yards against the Bears and will look to have another 20+ carry game and is a very valuable RB to roster this week.

Marqise Lee, WR on the Jaguars. Only owned in 53% of leagues, Lee is evolving into a top tier fantasy wide-out. In his last 4 games he has an outstanding 39 targets. He has had back-to-back 13.5 point games with all the volume he has been receiving, his numbers look to stay up in consistent double-digits making Lee a top tier fantasy wide receiver

Danny Woodhead, RB on the Ravens. Only owned in 42% of leagues Woodhead makes his return to the Ravens this week after missing more-less the entire season to this point. If you ignored last week’s advice to pick him up, I HIGHLY suggest you pick him as soon as possible. Woodhead is eligible to play this week and is a fantasy monster available for deep playoff runs.
