Netflix Pick: Scrubs

Scrubs is a dramedy which hit airwaves in 2001. Featuring a hospital named Sacred Heart and the colorful employees that work there, it had a long 9 year run with 182 episodes. The main character J.D. (played by Zach Braff) initially had trouble finding the right place for himself within his new work environment, but with the help of his mentor Dr. Cox (played by John McGinley) he and his best friend Turk (played by Donald Faison) find a balance between their work and their child-like antics around the hospital by the end of the show.

Adding to the mix is Dr. Elliot Reid (played by Sarah Chalke) and nurse Carla Espinosa (played by Judy Reyes) with whom J.D and Turk have constant relationship issues giving the show more drama. Although most of the general aspects of the show such as working in a hospital with all of your best friends and joking around most of the time are not very relatable, the show does make the viewer feel as if they could see themselves right alongside of them making it enjoyable to watch all 9 seasons.

The show’s end came in 2010 after 13 episodes were flimed for the final season, marking major changes for the characters. It takes place in a different location and only a few of the original characters are in the final season. However, it is still worth watching until the end and it is a great show to binge watch or just catch a few episodes at a time.
