Girls Lacrosse Looks Ahead
The Dominion High School girls’ varsity lacrosse team has a bright future ahead of them for this upcoming season. The girls were 14-2 last season, and their extremely successful season came to end late last may against George Mason High School.
Fortunately, the team did not lose too many seniors, and with that they welcome many freshmen into their program. Head Coach Diane Traynor says, “We are very fortunate to be returning many of our starters from last year.”
The girl’s lacrosse team has a tough schedule for this upcoming season. “We will have to take one game at a time,” Traynor says. Both games against George Mason and Freedom High School are key, and have even added 5A and 6A schools to their schedule.
This year the coaches are expecting to be a highly competitive team. Traynor says,” Our expectations are that we will play as a team, continue to improve from game to game, execute what we are capable of doing, and never give up!”
