Six Titans Sign on National Signing Day

Wednesday morning Coach Buckwalter, Coach Schlemmer, Mr. Fleming and 5 football players and 1 swimmer were involved in Signing Day. On National Signing Day players officially sign with schools that offer them scholarships. After they sign, the players cannot switch schools and the school cannot rescind their offers.

Matthew Popovich: Penn State

“It was a huge relief knowing where I would be spending my next four years, and that my recruiting process was finally over. I felt that I got along great with the coaches and the team so I know it will be an easy fit,” Popovich said.

Tommy Christ: Virginia

“Our coaches are always great, [coach Buck] would always encourage us saying, ‘No breaks, you have to always keep working for your goals,’” Christ said.

Vashon McCants: Towson

“I’m going to bring someone who bled, sweat, and dreamt football to Towson this fall I’m really excited to see what the future holds for my football career,” McCants said.

Jayson Robinson: Howard

“I’d really just like to thank my mom for always staying on me to get things done which has helped my school work this year and will hopefully help in the next four years,” Robinson said.

Kyle Smith: Shepherd

“My dad pushes me and encourages me, telling me what I did right, what I did wrong, and what I need to work on for the future which I’m going to take with me to Shepherd,” Smith said.

Corey Williams: Shenandoah

“Signing day means to me that I’m going to college, I’m done with high school, and I’m starting a new chapter in my life,” Williams said.
