Dominion High School’s boys’ varsity basketball team (4-5) is taking an exciting trip to the Verizon Center this Tuesday on January 10th. The Verizon Center has a program where they invite high school basketball teams, and Athletic Director, Joe Fleming said that they simply took advantage of it.
Fleming also mentioned that it was the coaching staff’s idea to have them play a game against the Briar Woods boys’ varsity basketball team who is currently 3-6. Dominion’s head coach, Sonny Green, believed that it would be a great opportunity to have both high school teams play on a professional court, in a huge arena home to the NBA’s Washington Wizards. The game will take place at 3 pm, but there will be no fan bus provided for the students that are interested in going.
