This week’s Netflix Pick is actually two movies, The A-Team and Ocean’s Eleven, both action-packed and hilarious.  The movies were released in 2010 and 2001 respectively but remain relevant and entertaining.

These two movies represent two sides of Hollywood, the good guys getting even and the bad guys evading the authorities.  The A-Team is about a ragtag Special Forces team that is falsely accused of committing a crime and works to clear their name.  Ocean’s Eleven, on the other hand, follows a group of expert thieves who come up with an outrageous plan to execute the biggest heist of their lives.

Even if your interests may not include war movies or heist movies, both of these films can be considered buddy comedies as well.  The best part of these movies, in my opinion, is the chemistry between cast members.  In Ocean’s Eleven, Brad Pitt and George Clooney work together so well, even completing one another’s sentences, that their relationship in the film is extremely believable.  Liam Neeson portrays the exasperated team-leader perfectly in The A-Team alongside an arrogant Bradley Cooper and eccentric Sharlto Coopeley.

Both films are great for a few hours of entertainment, allowing the viewer to tag along on some pretty awesome adventures without any extra drama or overly deep moments.  The cinematography is informative, providing an in-depth look at Las Vegas, Mexico, Iraq, and Los Angeles and the movies feature outstanding performances by female leads Julia Roberts and Jessica Biel.  Next time you have a couple of hours to yourself, check out The A-Team, Ocean’s Eleven, or both!
