Dominion High School Named 2015-2016 Virginia Honor Band
On March 10th and 11th, the Dominion High School concert band and symphonic band attended the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association Assessments. Both bands scored a superior rating, earning an overall score of 1. The band members competed against all of Loudoun County in the District 16 section.
Since the Marching Titans also received a superior rating in the VBODA Marching Band Assessments, Dominion High School was named a Virginia Honor Band for the 2015-2016 school year. Sareena Chadha, a junior who plays the euphonium, said before the contest, “I feel very nervous but we have been practicing for months and I think we will do well”.
The Titans performed admirably under the leadership of new band director Jonathan Shiffler, earning the highest score possible and hopefully setting a standard for years to come.
