Washington has finally taken the leap necessary to get a moderate lead in front of Dallas and hold down first place in the entire league. The Caps are the hottest team in the NHL right now, and have the East on lock down.
With a game against Vancouver tonight, Washington has yet another guaranteed two points to use in their attack on the NHL. The Caps are currently riding a four game win streak, and are coming off a massive win against the Senators last Sunday, a 7-1 outcome.
Andre Burakovsky, Tom Wilson, and Michael Latta are all expected to make comebacks tonight after their injuries against Ottawa last Sunday. While I don’t want them playing if they have possible injuries, Trotz is telling the media they’re all healthy enough to play. Not only are these guys going to prove how dominant the Caps are playing, but they’re also going to show how hungry the Caps are for the playoffs by overcoming their injuries this quickly.
The next five games are against joke teams: Vancouver, Buffalo, Rangers, Columbus, and Anaheim. While the Rangers aren’t necessarily a joke team, those clowns can’t even take out the other New York team, so I don’t consider them much of a threat. The next week should lead to another ten points for the Caps, but at the very least a guaranteed eight.
Everything’s coming up Washington, and I couldn’t be happier. Dallas has Chicago to worry about in the West, and we have nobody. Florida is on a roll with an 8-1-1 record for their last ten games, but they are still ten points behind us. Even though they’ve played consistently well the last couple of seasons, the Caps are absolutely dominating this year and I think we might have a chance t
