One event at Dominion that consistently provides great information to parents of freshman and sophomores is Freshman-Sophomore Parent night, occurring next Monday. Though parents aren’t required to come, it will help them and their child in planning for college.

The Night will “give information about course selection and planning for college,” says Ms. Patel, the R-Z guidance counselor. The night isn’t exclusive for parents though, as ”students can come, but much of the information is given to them in Titan Time,” Patel says. There used to be only a single information night for all grades, but the counseling department decided to split them as they “[focus] on different things,” Patel said.

Even though it isn’t for all grades anymore, freshman and sophomore parent night will help parents and students plan for college and make wise course selections in the future.
