Community Leader Lunches

Dominion is taking time to recognize the leaders within the community by dedicating lunches to distinguish outstanding members of Loudoun County. The reasoning for creating Community Leader Lunches is to establish a sense of community between the students of DHS and such individuals of excellence, demonstrating that, as students, we should reach towards success much like said leaders.

According to Dr. Brewer, the coordinator of the Community Leader Lunches, the school is “hoping to have a total of three lunches, prompting the students of Dominion High School to gain insight into professional career options.”

Members of the community that are expected to attend these lunches include “deputies from Loudoun County, doctors, and politicians,” said Dr. Brewer, advocating for students to come and dine with these leaders over pizza.

Students can participate by eating a free pizza lunch in the Career Center while listening to notable members of the community give insight into their work lives. The sign up process is simple; “just have a parent sign a permission form and you’re good to go,” says Dr. Brewer said.

The school recognizes these lunches as a fantastic opportunity to give kids insight into great career paths, role models to look after, and an opportunity to sit down and chat with local leaders.
